Seating Information
Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY is a world-famous horse racing venue home to the iconic Kentucky Derby. The venue offers multiple seating categories across several floors and sections:
- Infield General Admission: The most affordable and social experience. Located inside the track, the Infield offers a festive party atmosphere but limited track views. Best for those focused on the experience rather than viewing the race up close.
- Grandstand (Sections 119–128, 221–225, 321–328): Offers solid track views at a mid-range price. The 3rd floor provides good depth of field but limited finish-line views. Recommended for budget-conscious fans who still want a good race view.
- Clubhouse (Sections 111–117, 218–220, 312–321): Premium seating closer to the finish line, with box seat options typically seating 6. Excellent views and closer to the action.
- Millionaires Row: The most prestigious area, featuring tiered dining balconies directly overlooking the finish line. Reserved for premium ticket holders and includes fine dining. This is the best section for an unobstructed finish-line view.
- General Admission: Grants access to first-floor seating areas including the first-floor Clubhouse and Sections 115–117. Good value option.
We recommend Millionaires Row or upper Clubhouse sections for the best overall race-viewing experience. Avoid the far Infield for those who want to actually watch the race.
Parking Information
Parking at Churchill Downs (700 Central Ave, Louisville, KY 40208) for major events must be pre-purchased in advance as all on-site lots sell out:

- Turquoise Lot (Official — Close): Second closest on-site option, also selling out quickly. Entry through the Clubhouse or VIP gate.
- Farther On-Site Lots: Additional lots are available but may place guests near Gate 1, Gate 3, Gate 10, or Gate 17. Gate 10 and Gate 17 are the most commonly used entry points.
